Where Was That, Again?

I was listening to a community radio station located in a small town in Cornwall, England, a few evenings ago and was intrigued by their station identifiers. They continually stated that they were “in Cornwall, NEAR England.”

Now, Cornwall is the south-western-most portion of England and is not detached in any way and, to the best of my knowledge it is ruled by the Lords and Ladies in London.

It’s kinda like the State of Victoria (albeit known as “Mexico” by New South Welshmen) saying it’s “near Australia…”
