Easy listening, memories and new releases not heard on mainstream radio throughout the morning, on the Derwent Valley’s own radio station.
Today’s photo – St Mathew’s Close, adjacent to St Mathew’s Anglican Church, New Norfolk. The first section was constructed next to the pre-existing church in 1866, for use as a Sunday School.
After the building was enlarged in 1890, it was also used as a hall.
In the late 1960s, it came to be used as a small museum, as well as an art and craft shop. Profits from it’s operation aid ongoing preservation of St Mathew’s Church which, dating to 1823, is one of the oldest existing churches in Tasmania.
