BORN
1945 Perth, West Australia – Judy Nunn, actress and author who first appeared as reporter Vicky Stafford in the soap opera The Box. In 1979 she played Joyce Martin in the popular Australian series Prisoner and then as Dr. Irene Fisher in Sons and Daughters. Her most famous role was as Ailsa Stewart in the soapie Home and Away, from 1988 until the character was killed off in 2000. In 2002, she re-appeared as a ghost which only her former on-screen husband, Alf Stewart, could see.
1951 Streatham, London, England – Peter Moffett alias Peter Davison, actor, best known for his roles as Tristan Farnon in the television series of James Herriot’s All Creatures Great And Small and for the fifth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, 1982 to 1984.
DIED
1922 Weybridge, England – Ross Macpherson Smith, pioneer aviator, plane crash soon after taking off from Brooklands airport, Surrey, England. His body was transported to Australia where Smith was given a state funeral and buried in the North Road Cemetery, Adelaide. Aged 29.
