8 SEPTEMBER IN HISTORY:
1950 Melbourne, Victoria – John Bryan Kerr, a 25 year old radio announcer, was found guilty on circumstantial evidence in the Criminal Court of having murdered Elizabeth Williams (aged 20) on Albert Park Beach. His death sentence was later commuted to 20 years imprisonment, of which he served 14 years.
Kerr constantly maintained his innocence and, soon after his death in 2001, another man made a death-bed confession of the murder.
2006 Died in Gidgegannup, West Australia – Peter Brock, Australian champion racecar driver, nine times winner of the Bathurst 1000 and Sandown 500 races, amongst others. Aged 61.
2006 Died in Northwood, Middlesex, England – Frank Middlemass, English actor best remembered for his television roles as Rocky Hardcastle in As Time Goes By, Algy Herries in To Serve Them All My Days and Dr. Alex Ferrenby in Heartbeat. Aged 87.
2022 Died in Balmoral, Aberdeenshire, Scotland – Queen Elizabeth II, longest serving monarch in English history. Aged 96.

I’m still on my P plates with this, so there are gradual changes from time to time as I learn a bit more about it.
A little while ago, I asked one of my sons who knows a lot about I T, about an alternative to Facebook, after I was penalised over absolute nonsense.
So far, this has worked well. The only catch is that I still need FB to direct people here.
