LOOKING BACK……

1959 LEUNEBURG, West Germany – Authorities had been trying for over a year to locate an unlicenced “pirate” radio station which was broadcasting jazz.
It was believed the station was being operated by teenagers who moved the transmitter to different places after each broadcast to foil Government direction-finder equipment.
But then, the station’s announcer addressed the direction-finder crews, suggesting they take a rest because there would be no broadcast the following day.

1960 NEW NORFOLK, Tasmania – A local resident had a surprise when he saw himself twice, as a World War 2 serviceman, on the television programme “War In The Air.”
